Design a website that captures the feeling and grit of the world's most iconic music festival.
Coachella is a culture-defining snapshot of music, fashion, and art attended by over 250,000 people each year. This was our second year working with Coachella — and our challenge was to design a website that captures the feeling and grit of the event by incorporating nods to a simpler, analog approach to art. The digital experience needed to feel as warm, organic, and handcrafted as the festival itself.

A hand-drawn, desert-inspired design system built on 50+ original illustrations and 20+ custom modules.
Watercolor brush strokes and hand-drawn illustrations inspired by the desert form the foundation of a design that portrays the environment and playfulness of Coachella. Built on a flexible, modular system, the website supports diverse content types while maintaining a consistent visual personality — organic, warm, and unmistakably human.

Watercolor textures, organic shapes, and a natural color palette drawn from the Coachella Valley landscape give the website a warmth that most festival sites never achieve. Hand-drawn elements replace perfect vectors — the imperfection is the point.

The website is built on a flexible, modular system of 20+ custom components — hero sections, artist displays, content blocks, and more — that maintain visual consistency while allowing for rich content variety. The system scales cleanly across desktop and mobile without losing any of the handcrafted character.
